Finally it was time to stop relying on time to guide all the matters of the day, it’s not real but we use it as a benchmark so we aren’t totally lost and floundering.
How does my body feeeeeel right now?
Is it time to wake up, or get extra rest?
Do I need food? What kind of food?
Oh yeah, we need to know how much TIME to cook it
We need to know what TIME to be at work, or at the appointment, or go to the meeting
We need to know what TIME to take our medicine or when to bring our car in for service
We have our watches and wall clocks and wearable tech
But then a power outage has us resetting all the digital devices
Don’t get me started with daylight savings?
Spring forward, fall back, don’t get in a crash from your circadian rhythm getting out of whack
Some places maintain consistency
Saskatchewan is buddies with Alberta for part of the year, and Manitoba for the rest
More things we follow without questioning why
I just sit down and let out a sigh
Daydreaming of times without time
We say time feels like it’s crawling, or that time flew by
Our perceptions really impact many things
But as long as we have a clock and a calendar to ground us
We should be able to make sense of it all
But sometimes waking up early, energized and free, I still hit a wall
And I stall
Appalled at it all
And that’s when I call
It an end to writing before I fall
Asleep with rhymes still rhyming
In my head
