The most unique flower in the garden got me to pause my normally brisk walk, focused forward
I stopped, dead in my tracks, and gasped
It was beautiful
It stood so tall
It’s striking orange standing out in the sea of soft rainbow colours
The leaves flourishing like an ocean wave splashing on the rocks
The prominent petals like a crown sitting on top
I’d never seen anything like it
It was magnificent
It was the only one in the whole garden
Standing tall and proud
Like it knew it had something unique and special to offer the world
This flower didn’t worry about what the other flowers would think if it maxed out its brilliance
It served to inspire the other flowers to reach higher
The flower exemplified the confidence I also sought in myself
And even though the bloom has now faded
To this day, I hold the memory of that flower in my heart, when I have to stand up and bring more of myself to the world
