From outside her window
She watched the waves crash against the shore
Lap lap crash, a gentle rhythm to soothe her heart
Sitting quietly watching the scene before her out the window
The squirrels defeating the squirrel proofing on the bird feeders
The birds nearby complaining of the traffic jam
The geese with their little ones floating by effortlessly gliding along the water despite the waves
The trees gently swaying in the breeze, rustling and adding in their melody
The grass, perfect without weeds, heart hurting knowing why
Chemicals create chaos in this calm corner of the world
Dandelions decimated and banned from sharing their health delights
Do the animals know
Where humans enter conflict with nature’s flow
The scene so peaceful, silly moments stolen
What to focus on
As she looks through her window
