As I sit in the car with mommy, I watch the birds fly by
The air conditioning blows thru my hair feathers as I pretend I can soar the skies with them
I push my snout closer, getting lost in my daydream of being up in the clouds
How do they do it? It looks like so much fun! I wish they’d show me how
Flying up so high where you can see everything
It must be so wonderful and exciting
Mommy doesn’t understand that’s why I chase the birdies
I don’t want to eat them! I want to whisper to them, ask them their secrets
Maybe one day I’ll catch one, and he’ll tell me
Until then, I will watch, and wait, and wonder
