I stood in front of one of the most breathtaking examples of architecture I’d ever seen.
I’m certainly one to geek out over gargoyles, coo over columns, lust over lighting, wander and pause around wrap around porches, and possibly be too passionate over paint chips 🙂
But this was different. It was perfect in every way. I stared in awe at it’s magnificence barely daring to breathe
How can I keep this moment etched in my memory for always
I’d seen photos all my life but here, right in front of me real
Those photos never compare
People scurried about around me
Some making exasperated huffing sounds like my dog when he wants a taste of what I’m eating
Their sounds were definitely of frustration…of me being in the way? Of me being able to stop time for a few moments of wonder? Of me being able to step out of that crazy race I never wanted to be in anyway…
Lost in these moments of awe, barely breathing, making memories
II stood in front of the most breathtaking example of architecture I’d ever seen.
And I knew my life would never be the same again
